Learning Each Other's Language
An animation test- prototype (not a production ready piece) that intents to instil interest in learning the language of those branded as enemies in the conflict case of Cyprus. Teaching Greek to Turkish Cypriot elementary school children and Turkish to Greek Cypriot elementary school children. Submitted as part of my PhD in Animation at the Glasgow School of Art (2013).
I have also written an associated paper for the Animation Practice, Process & Production journal (Vol 6, Issue 1). The paper is called Speaking each other’s language: The development of an animation prototype with the intention to toggle the language barrier among children of the Greek and the Turkish Cypriot community. The paper can be found here.
